Recovery Manager for SharePoint

  • Integration with native backup solutions - Locate and use backup files from native Microsoft SQL Server backups. These include manual and scheduled maintenance backups and other solutions that rely on SQL Server backups (i.e. SharePoint Portal Server backup and restore, SharePoint 2007 backup and restore tools).
  • Integration with other backup tools - Recovery Manager enables the user to restore the data from the snapshots of backups created using Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2007. It also enables the user to restore the data from the backups created using IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Databases, Symantec Veritas NetBackup or Symantec Backup Exec. In addition, Recovery Manager works with LiteSpeed backups stored in Tivoli Storage Manager.
  • Restore to any location, any time - Restore any recovered content to any SharePoint instance or save to a file system, even when the original SharePoint site is not available. This means you have emergency access to business-critical data before the entire server farm comes back.
  • Search and compare online data and backups - Search for any document by title or type of a document in a specific backup or across all backups in a date range. View a list of deleted or modified documents in the search pane with a single click or sort search results by any column.
  • Document preview - Locate, open, save to disk, or even e-mail any document inside the backup. Recovery Manager automatically uses the appropriate program to open documents based on the document extension, saves the document or sends it via e-mail.
  • Web Access and Delegation -Recovery Manager Web Access allows administrators to delegate the time-consuming task of locating a required object to the help desk or junior members of the IT admin team. SharePoint administrators can then review and approve the restoration requests submitted via Web Access. E-mail alerts can also be sent when a request is submitted and when a restoration is complete.
  • Automatic discovery of backups - Discover all backups made for a particular content database of virtual servers discovered by Quest Site Administrator.
  • Enhanced Backup Analysis and Restore for SQL Server Native and Quest LiteSpeed Backups - Recovery Manager provides a rapid analysis and recovery with low disk space requirements for SQL native and LiteSpeed backups enabling you to search for up-to-date SharePoint objects.
